The plans include boundary landscaping and an ecological enhancement area, as part of Harworth’s ongoing commitment to promoting green spaces and protecting local biodiversity. The plans also include upgrades to highways and associated infrastructure, with improvements to the following: - A6 Chorley Road/De Haviland Way roundabout - A6 Chorley Road/Dicconson Lane junction - Manchester Road/Bolton Road junction The plans will also see highways improvement works already committed by other developments to the A6 Chorley Road/De Haviland Way roundabout and M61 Junction 6 brought forward. This consent provided the details of access, layout, landscaping, appearance and scale for the first five industrial/ warehouse buildings within Phase 1. These works were completed in 2026. The new road alignment offers significant benefits for local residents including increasing the distance between residential properties and the road by 40m, creating a new landscaped buffer and moving traffic away from the houses. The realignment works at the A6 Chorley Road optimise traffic flow by coordination of traffic signals between junctions, which benefits local residents, businesses and road users. The proposed access arrangement and enhancements to Wimberry Hill Road and Chorley Road also significantly improve provision for pedestrians and cyclists.
